My blue and white quilt is almost finished

I can't wait to show you this quilt.
My friend, Jane Hair, does long arm quilting as a business. She does amazing work. When I started making this quilt I knew I wanted her to quilt it for me. I knew I couldn't doing anything close to what she can do. So here it is. Cara just went and picked it up and took these pictures. I couldn't wait to see it in person.
Just Amazing!
I am in awe!
Love it!
Thank you so much Jane! Now to get it here so that I can bind it and put it to use.

New furniture

This is a couple of the things Dave and I bought for the house so far.

A new kitchen table. It is counter height and the sides fold out to make it bigger. We got six chairs, two of which were broken and will be replaced this next week. Dave and Ethan put them together.

This is our new file cabinet in the office.

And this is one of the things I am working on in the sewing "studio".

The colored pencils are there for scale. You know I love small pieces! This is a kit I got at a quilt shop in San Marcos. It uses a product called Thangles to make the HST (half square triangles). You don't have to do math involving 7/8 so it makes them much easier that way, but there are a lot of steps. So far I've got 4 completely done, three more half done and 9 others to cut and sew.

Now a couple of things about my last post about my sewing "studio". Megan suggested I call it that. The jars of fruit are going to be a wall hanging or a table runner. Let me know if you want one, I have lots of fruits and veggies. Maybe you'll get one for Christmas. Who knows. And Megan asked about my ironing board placement. The room is small and I can't even open the closet door all the way with the new table, so I can't move the tables over to make room behind my chair.

Ethan starts high school on Tuesday. Yeah!

This is his sad haircut day.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
